ETICS with mixed façade
In the Rathenau district of Erlangen, a former cardboard factory has been converted into a modern residential complex. The ‘Ohm Gärten’, a combination of existing and new buildings, were to be given an individual façade in keeping with the industrial style of the property: the Nuremberg-based company ERSABAU was commissioned to implement a mix of materials consisting of striking clinker bricks and render.
Expertise & Communication
ERSABAU initially received a detailed list of services, which served as the basis for the calculation. Working closely with maxit, the necessary steps were discussed and a precise calculation of the offer was jointly developed. The final offer was then submitted to the client, Bauwerke Wohnbau GmbH from Nuremberg.
Bauwerke Wohnbau GmbH decided to have ERSABAU carry out this project and awarded them the contract. A key part of the work was the professional planning and implementation of the joints, especially the field boundary joints. maxit provided a well-founded joint plan that met the client's high quality requirements.
The ground floor was insulated with MW panels, while maxit PS 035 with fire barriers was used on the upper floors. Due to approval requirements, the ground floor must always be designed to be ‘non-combustible’ for clinker brick façades. maxit multi 285 was used for bonding and reinforcement, with additional dowelling on the brick surfaces. The brick slips – manufactured by Röben, model ‘Calais’ – were installed vertically, bonded with maxit laying mortar and grouted with maxit joint mortar.
Throughout the entire project, great importance was attached to smooth communication and close cooperation between all parties involved.
