Fire protection | Security Centre Innsbruck
Effective, lightweight, visually appealing
The use of maxit ip 160 for fire protection upgrades proved to be an excellent choice. The tested fire protection plaster not only provided maximum fire protection, but also preserved the building's structural integrity. In addition to meeting all test requirements and technical specifications, the short processing time was also a decisive advantage.
Delicate ribbed ceilings
During the renovation of the Security Centre in Tyrol, the floor slabs of the completely gutted building required fire protection upgrades. The typical requirement for slender ribbed ceilings, as in this case in Innsbruck, is that the fire protection cladding must above all be effective, but also lightweight in order to preserve as much of the load-bearing capacity of the ceilings as possible. In addition, there are requirements regarding the interior appearance. Either the fire protection system must also meet these requirements, or additional cladding is required – at the expense of the structural integrity.
The "all-rounder" from maxit
The choice fell on maxit ip 160 fire protection plaster, as this tested fire protection plaster can do both: it offers the most effective fire protection for the components in question and also provides creative freedom for all surface requirements.
maxit ip 160 was applied to the ribbed concrete ceilings in a layer thickness of 10–20 mm. There was no need to cover the fire protection plaster surfaces because maxit ip 160 can be used for a wide variety of surface designs requested by architects. The bottom of the concrete ribs was smoothed using plaster rails, while the rest of the surfaces remained roughcast.
