Fire protection | Underground car park in Obertauern
Safe & fast
The use of maxit ip 160 for the fire protection upgrade of the underground car park ceiling was absolutely right, because in addition to fulfilling all the necessary test criteria and technical parameters, the short processing time also proved to be an important advantage.
Fire protection - in existing buildings and for retrofit installations
At the Hotel Grünwaldkopf in Obertauern, the existing underground car park ceiling had to be structurally reinforced with bonded CFRP strips as well as steel beams and steel supports to increase the load-bearing capacity of the underground car park ceiling. This resulted in a number of tricky connection points to other components, which had to be solved with a simple and durable type of fire protection coating. In addition, the adhesive connection between the reinforced concrete ceiling and the FRP system must not exceed a limit temperature of 70 °C in the event of a fire.
Fire protection plaster with outstanding properties
Searching for a simple and tested solution to permanently protect the retrofitted materials - the CFRP louvres, steel beams and steel columns - in the event of a fire, the choice fell on maxit ip 160 fire protection plaster. With this ecological and purely mineral fire protection plaster, which is also very easy to apply, the complexity of this project could be dealt with quickly and cost-effectively. The maxit ip 160 fire protection plaster was applied to the various substrates in different layer thicknesses of approx. 25 - 60 mm and with a spray-rough surface finish.
