Energy-saving construction

Energy-saving construction encompasses the entire spectrum of manufacture and use of your building incl. worthwhile and carefully implemented building materials. Alongside a compact building shape; a good thermal insulation of the exterior construction components, the windproofness of the outer shell as well as the prevention of wind bridges are of great significance. With structural thermal insulation measures you are able to significantly reduce the energy consumption of your house.

At maxit we have mastered energy-saving construction for decades and have appropriate construction materials as well as complementary products in this area.

In the following, you will see a selection of designed solutions by maxit especially surrounding the subject of energy-saving construction from the areas of insulation and plaster with which you can build the important foundations for an energy optimised construction.

Furthermore, with the maxit solar we have another energy-saving product for your façade design, as well as a complementary innovative panel heating system from maxtherm with a high energy-saving potential.

As the crude oil price has more than multiplied over the last few years, you should cast an eye on your heating costs and place great value on saving money on the heating. A large proportion of heat is lost through the exterior walls (over 40 percent) and we have specialised ourselves precisely here.

With our maxit EIFS you can save on your heating costs. Simultaneously you are supporting thermal insulation, damp protection, sound insulation and fire protection of your property and contributing a valuable input into climate protection. On top of everything, you get money back from the State through diverse support programmes if you invest in an energy-conscious design and/or restoration. With this you can see that heat pays in many ways.

The demand for thermal insulation of a façade with mineral insulating materials is ever more increasing. This goes back to the fact that mineral insulating materials have the advantage of so-called breathability (diffusion-overt). Until the 90s, it was only the so-called “expanded polystyrene” (EPS) that was used for the thermal insulation in façades, however with regard to the constantly increasing heating and energy costs, this by far does not achieve the energy-savings made through mineral insulation. In Germany today, mineral insulation is used for up to 35 percent of façade insulation.

We only use environmentally-friendly construction products of certified construction materials (IBU certified) for the optimal internal insulation of walls, as well as the upper and lower ceiling insulation (underground car park, cellar, etc.). With our great, mineral, monolithic mineral insulation panels (thermal insulation made of calcium silicate hydrate, lime, sand, cement, water, pore inducers) you will receive a building biological and micro-biological harmless product, with an inhibitory effect against fungi and micro-organisms, which is also completely recyclable.

Other benefits are:

  • breathable
  • water vapour permeability
  • A1 not flammable pursuant to DIN 4102
  • improved sound insulation
  • economical
  • high rigidity
  • highest level of safety through patented system
  • best thermal insulation
  • natural, mineral insulation system
  • recyclable

Plaster with an increased share of light supplements - predominantly beads made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) - is described as thermal insulated plaster if it fulfils certain criteria for thermal conductivity and dry bulk density.

Our product range complies with the stipulated criteria and furthermore maxit also provides plaster with insulating features on the basis of mineral lightweight aggregates. This means that the maxit insulated plaster system is a mineral-based, thermal insulating system, which consists of a thermal insulating base coat with the addition of EPS and a one or two-layered finishing coat. The system can be applied as additional insulation of thermal insulated masonry, for example, of vertical coring lightweight bricks, lightweight concrete or aerated concrete. Smooth insulated layers can also be produced, which are suitable for all geometrical forms of substrate.

Furthermore, the system is also suitable in compensation of larger irregularities.

The increasing demand for thermal insulation in buildings has led to the improvement of the exterior wall construction over the last few decades with regard to its heat transition coefficients (U-values, previously K-values in W/m·K).

These high-insulating wall constructions can be manufactured by various wall structures e.g. through monolithic masonry with modern bricks (Lambda value < 0.14) or e.g. through masonry of high density plus approved EIFSs (Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems). The monolithic constructions made of masonry with high-insulating wall creators also require the appropriate exterior plaster system.

Exterior plaster systems consist, in most cases, of a base coat, finishing coat and a coat of paint. They are an important component of the exterior wall and permanently protect the masonry behind it from weathering. With this the wall construction remains dry and retains its required thermal protection.

Our maxit product range provides you with the correct solution to fulfil these requirements with the maxit lime-cement lightweight fibre plaster. By using this you will not only benefit from the exterior plaster which is coordinated with the selected masonry in terms of the building physical features, but also from the proven bonus of safety.
